The Greely Girls' Volleyball team Held it's annual raffle
for a riding lawn mower. Congratulations to Mr. Pride,
this years winner.
On Saturday, September 15, 2007 Greely players, their
families and friends will be walking as part of the Greely
Volleyball Vs. ALS team in the ALS Association of Northern
New England’s annual “Walk to D’Feet ALS” around
the Backcove in Portland.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a neuromuscular
disease, which attacks the motor neurons making even the
simplest movements of walking, speaking and gesturing
impossible. Ultimately the body becomes paralyzed, yet
through it all the mind remains unaffected. Presently,
there is no cure for ALS and funding for additional research
into the cause and cure for this disease is limited.
Recently our Assistant Volleyball Coach, Dr. Bruce Churchill,
was diagnosed with ALS. Coach Churchill has been an integral
part of the Greely Girl’s Volleyball program since it’s
inception. Through the years he has provided, and continues
to provide, countless hours of advice, leadership, and
inspiration to all past and present volleyball players.
As part of this year’s Greely Volleyball team,
If you would like to make a contribution in support of
our walk. donations can be made by sending a check payable
